Milène, a candidate in the MT180 2024 competition
MT180, focus on Milène Parquet
This year Milène is taking part in the Ma Thèse en 180 secondes competition. This competition enables doctoral students to present their research topic, in French and in simple terms, to a diverse audience. Each student has to give a clear, concise yet convincing presentation of his or her research project in three minutes. She represents not only the CRIBL laboratory, but also Doctoral School 652 Biology, Chemistry and Health, and the University of Limoges as a whole.
Milène will present her thesis entitled: Anomaly of immunoglobulin rearrangements and DNA repair in chronic lymphocytic leukaemia.
The local final of the national “My thesis in 180 seconds” competition will be held on Thursday 7 March 2024 from 3.30pm in the Jacobins campus of the University of Limoges. At the end of the final, 5 of the 9 doctoral students taking part will be invited to the next stage of the competition, the regional final for the North Aquitaine region, to be held in Poitiers on 19 March.
Her portrait by the College of Doctoral Schools
Milène has found that it is sometimes difficult to explain the work she does on a daily basis. This competition will give her the opportunity to explain her thesis subject to the general public and to her friends and family who will be present on the day of the competition.
After this experience, she hopes to develop her oratory skills, which she will be able to use during her thesis defence, to keep her audience listening.
Milène is a motivated person who enjoys life to the full.
