Research
Research Engineer shared between the U1248 Pharmacology and Transplantation laboratory and the BISCEm platform
Within U1248, participation in research projects requiring expertise in biochemistry and/or mass spectrometry:
- Development of sample preparation methods and analytical methods in mass spectrometry necessary for the advancement of research projects (short-chain fatty acids, drugs, etc.)
- Development of ELISA and Western Blot assays
Within the BISCEm platform, as manager of the mass spectrometry unit:
- Mass spectrometry services for small and large molecules: development and execution of experiments (sample preparation, LC-MS/MS analyses)
- Data analysis and presentation of results
- Cost management (cost calculation, preparation of quotes) and technical resources management (equipment investment decisions, maintenance, and servicing)
- Supervision and demonstration
Teaching
- Biotechnology course (UE) of the Master 2 “Bio-Health”, Limoges: presentation and tour of the mass spectrometry platform
- Jury member for the BTS “BioAnalyses et Contrôles”, Lycée R. Dautry, Limoges

Skills
Biological Sample Preparation
- Extraction of small molecules from cells or biological fluids: liquid-liquid extraction, solid-phase extraction (SPE)
- Protein extraction from cell cultures, biological fluids (blood, urine, etc.), animal/human tissues (muscle, liver, etc.), or plant tissues (wood, seedlings, etc.)
- Protein purification/concentration methods by precipitation, depletion of major proteins from human samples, or enrichment using the ProteoMiner system
Separation Techniques
- Electrophoresis under denaturing and non-denaturing conditions, isoelectric focusing and two-dimensional gels, off-gel isoelectric focusing
- Protein transfer in semi-liquid medium (Western Blot) and immunodetection
Mass Spectrometry Analysis
- Liquid chromatography systems coupled to mass spectrometers: LCMS8060 (Shimadzu) and TimsTOF Pro2 (Bruker) coupled with LC40 Nexera X2 (Shimadzu) or nanoElute 2 (Bruker)
- Software for system control and data acquisition: LabSolutions (Shimadzu), TimsControl / Hystar (Bruker), Analyst (Sciex)
- Data processing software for identification (ProteinPilot, Mascot, ProteoScape) and quantification (Swath 2.0, MultiQuant, LabSolutions Insight, MetaboScape)
