Christelle Vincent-Fabert received the young researcher award
During the “Lymphormons-nous 2019” conference organized by the France Lymphome Espoir association in Montpellier, Christelle Vincent-Fabert received the young researcher award. This award will allow him to continue his work developed in the CRIBL laboratory (Control of the Immune B Response and Lymphoproliferation) UMR CNRS 7276 / INSERM 1262 in Limoges on Waldenström’s disease.
Christelle Vincent Fabert received this award for her work in the team of Prof. Jean Feuillard on Waldenström’s disease. In particular, she is studying the implementation of preclinical models aimed at a better understanding of this currently incurable disease. Waldenström’s disease is rare, there are 180 à 300 new cases per year in France, and it mainly affects men. It is a cancer manifested by the proliferation and accumulation of an immune cell subtype (B lymphocytes) in the bone marrow and more rarely in the lymph nodes and spleen. The objective of his research is to better understand the early stages of tumor transformation in order to subsequently propose therapeutic targets specific to Waldenström’s disease for which there is no specific treatment.
