A look back to Friday February 13th, where a member of our research unit, Prof. Franck SAINT-MARCOUX, assisted the doctoral thesis defense of Dr. Aminata SARR, that stems from a collaboration between toxicologists from Dakar and Limoges (Prof. Mathilde Cabral and Prof. Saint-Marcoux Franck).
This work represents the outcome of an immense research effort focused on the dangers of pesticides to maternal and fetal health. The PMETox study and its findings mark a major step forward in addressing this significant public health issue, in Senegal and beyond.
Prof. Saint-Marcoux adds that it was a pleasure and a source of pride to have co-supervised this research.
He also wishes to extend his gratitude to colleague and friend, Prof. Olivier MATHIEU (CHU de Montpellier), for serving on the jury & to the entire team of the Dakar Poison Control Center (led by Prof. Mamadou FALL) for their exceptional welcome (the renowned “Teranga”) and for the wonderful moments shared in the pursuit of scientific progress.
