Laboratoire Navier

Les recherches menées au laboratoire Navier (ENPC, IFSTTAR, CNRS UMR8205, http://navier.enpc.fr) concernent la mécanique et la physique des matériaux et des structures, les géomatériaux et leurs applications à la géotechnique, au génie civil, à la géophysique et à l’exploitation pétrolière. Les enjeux sociétaux concernent la construction durable, les risques naturels, l’environnement et l’énergie. Une des thématiques du laboratoire concerne l’étude des structures en maçonnerie. Les travaux théoriques et expérimentaux portent sur l’élaboration de modèles et méthodes numériques qui prennent en compte le caractère hétérogène et composite de ces structures, le comportement non-linéaire du matériau et les effets de la microstructure et de sa taille. Les applications sont diverses : elles incluent le comportement statique et dynamique des structures modernes et anciennes (monuments historiques, cathédrales, temples grecs). Des sollicitations extrêmes comme le feu, les séismes, le vent (changement climatique) et les explosions sont prises en compte à travers  différents outils développés au sein du laboratoire. Un groupe de 5 à 10 chercheurs est actif sur ce domaine.
