LAPE provides its staff and students with access to financial databases on companies and markets worldwide. LAPE holds subscriptions to a variety of databases that cover areas such as financial statements, market data, ESG, board of directors, syndicated loans, and more. These databases provide both real-time and historical data for use in research and courses.

Registering for a database

All databases are accessible in the Data room (room 211B). To access the data room, it is necessary to register and make an appointment. List of databases

This database provides financial data on banks, insurance firms, corporates and sovereigns. It includes the world’s leading bank fundamental data set, and ratings and research covering the fixed-income universe.

 

A comprehensive, global database of banks’ financial statements. The information is sourced by Bureau van Dijk from a combination of annual reports, information providers and regulatory sources.

 

S&P Global Market Intelligence, formerly S&P Capital IQ and SNL Financial, S&P Global Market Intelligence integrates news, comprehensive market and sector-specific data, and analytics into a variety of tools to help track performance, generate alpha, identify investment ideas, understand competitive and industry dynamics, perform valuation and assess credit risk.

SNL Financial collects information for financial institutions and includes detailed profiles on more than 20,000 U.S. companies, including all publicly-traded banks & thrifts, privately-held institutions and credit unions. It also covers mortgage REITS and insurance.

 

Eikon/Datastream – Refinitiv combines economic, financial and business information from many sources worldwide. It provides data on e.g. equity, stock markets, bonds, options, credit ratings, commodities, corporate social responsibility and macro-economic themes. The Excel add-in enables to search the database directly and generate time-series as well as static datatypes. Eikon desktop-version allows to perform event studies (M&A, IPO etc.) and access company profiles of (mainly) listed companies worldwide.

 

The database povides global loan market news and analysis reports from 1995. Information on companies using the loan markets includes loan details, credit ratings and access to SEC filings. LoanConnector also incorporates the Dealscan® interface for searching over 155,000 loan and bond transactions worldwide. Dealscan provides regionally tailored search menus with over 200 search categories.

 

Refinitiv MarketPsych ESG Analytics (RMA) analyzes news and social media in realtime. Powered by MarketPsych Data’s natural language processing (NLP) engine, the scores are derived from millions of articles published daily in thousands of global media outlets. Wide coverage: 110,000+ companies and 250 geopolitical entities and long history: 1998 to the present.

 

Refinitiv Officers and Directors is a database on public company executives and directors in the world. The database features profiles for key decision makers from publicly traded companies with more than 20 years of employment and compensation history. It captures over 2.5 million officers and directors (representing more than 1.9 million unique people) from over 50,000 active public and 147,000 private companies. Data elements include individual names, full title histories, biographies, education, corporate affiliations, committees served on and compensation, presenting a complete view of an individual’s professional career.

 

Diane is a database that provides access to financial data of French companies that have filed their annual accounts with the Registries of Commercial Courts. This resource also presents information related to the activity, ownership structure, and board members. It also includes a set of 50 pre-calculated ratios.

 

The EFES database gathers all detailed information about employee share ownership, employee share plans and participation in each of all significant European listed companies and in each of all large European majority-employee-owned non-listed companies. Historical data since 2007.
