Seminar Prof. Satoshi TANAKA

In December 2024, IRCER, with the support of LABEX ∑-LIM and EUR TACTIC, had the honor to welcome Prof. Satoshi TANAKA, as a visiting professor.

Professor Satoshi TANAKA is a professor at the Graduate School of Engineering, Department of Technological Innovation Science, Nagaoka University of Technology. On the occasion of his visit, he offered a seminar on Tuesday, December 10, entitled “Magnetic Field-Assisted Orientation of Ceramic Materials: Enhancing Performance through Controlled Crystal Alignment” during which he highlighted his recent research on crystal-oriented polycrystalline ceramics, exploring the fundamental aspects of magnetic field-induced orientation, including the influence of factors such as orientation time, slurry viscosity and magnetic flux density, as well as innovative approaches to control the orientation direction and minimize the required magnetic field strength, thus opening the way to a wider range of applications and more efficient processing techniques.

Our students from the Advanced Ceramics training path also had the opportunity to attend two lectures by Prof. TANAKA.
