Authors, journal editors, editorial staff, reviewers and all parties involved in the act of publication should agree on the following ethical standards. "Declaration on Publication Ethics and Practices" is based on the guidelines of the Committee on Publication Ethics (COPE), available at http://publicationethics.org

Author's responsibilities

Authors submitting articles to FLAMME certify that :

• Their manuscript is original and unpublished, it has not been copied or plagiarized, and the author's other work on the same topic has been cited or appropriately referenced if it has been published elsewhere.
• They have not presented essentially the same research in previously published works.
• Authorship is limited to those who made a significant contribution to the conception, design, execution or interpretation of the reported study.

All those who made a significant contribution were listed as co-authors. Other researchers who were involved in important aspects of the research project were acknowledged or cited as contributors. All co-authors were clearly indicated at the time of submission of the article.

Authors presenting the results of original research should provide an accurate account of the work done and an objective discussion of its significance. The underlying data should be accurately represented in the manuscript or made accessible by providing a link to a database or other repository. An article must contain sufficient detail and references to enable others to reproduce the work. Fraudulent or knowingly inaccurate statements constitute unethical behaviour and are unacceptable.

When an author discovers a material error or inaccuracy in his or her own published work, it is the author's duty to promptly inform the editor or publisher of the journal and to cooperate with them in either withdrawing the article or issuing an appropriate statement of correction or erratum.

Editor's responsibilities

The editors of each issue:

• Are responsible for the decision to publish submitted articles.
• Must take into account the assessment made by the reviewers.
• May confer with the journal's management and editorial staff.
• May be guided by the policies of the journal's editorial board and are subject, under the control of the publisher, to legal and ethical requirements regarding libel, copyright infringement and plagiarism.
• Must evaluate manuscripts for their intellectual content without regard to the race, gender, sexual orientation, religious beliefs, ethnic origin, citizenship or political philosophy of the author(s).
• Must not disclose any information about a submitted manuscript to anyone other than the corresponding author, reviewers, potential reviewers, other editorial advisors and the publisher, if applicable.
• Must not use in their own research unpublished material disclosed in a submitted manuscript without the express written consent of the author.

Responsibilities of reviewers

reviewers assist the editor in making editorial decisions and, through editorial communication with the author, may also assist the author in improving the paper.

All selected reviewers agree with the following statements:

• If a reviewer feels unqualified to review the research presented in a manuscript or knows that it is not possible to meet the deadline, he or she should immediately inform the Editor-in-Chief so that the paper can be sent to another reviewer.
• Manuscripts received for review must be treated as confidential. They should not be shown to or discussed with others, except with the permission of the Editor-in-Chief.
• Reviews should be conducted in an objective manner. Personal criticism of the author(s) is not accepted. Reviewers must clearly express their views, with supporting arguments.
• Examiners should identify relevant published works that have not been cited by the authors. Any fragment or part of the evaluated text that is so identified must be accompanied by the relevant citation. A reviewer should also report to the editor any substantial similarity or overlap between the manuscript under consideration and any other published article of which he or she has personal knowledge, and which is not mentioned and referenced in the text under review.
• Privileged information or ideas obtained through review must remain confidential and not be used for personal gain. Reviewers should not consider manuscripts in which they have conflicts of interest arising from competitive, collaborative or other relationships or ties with any of the authors, companies or institutions associated with the articles.

Responsibilities of the editor - direction and editing

The publisher is ultimately responsible for monitoring and enforcing the obligations of authors, guest editors and reviewers.
