About Sport Literature Association - SLA

The Sport Literature Association is an international organization devoted to the study of sport in literature. Initiated in the 1980s, the organization now has several hundred members around the world and sponsors an annual conference in a different location each summer. The SLA and its journal, Aethlon: the Journal of Sport Literature, indexed by the Modern Language Association and American Humanities Index. Angie Abdou of Athabasca University in Canada is President of the SLA for 2018-19.

Membership in the Sport Literature Association, including two issues of AETHLON, is:

  •   $70/per year for individuals
  •   $30/per year for students and retirees
  •   $80/per year for non-U.S. individuals
  •   $150/per year for institutions
