Poste de professeur assistant en photonique au CREOL (Floride)

« CREOL, The College of Optics and Photonics invites applications for a tenure-track junior-level faculty position in the area of applied optics and imaging science, preferably with application in biophotonics. The successful candidate will be expected to teach and establish a vigorous funded research program. More information on the college can be obtained at www.creol.ucf.edu.

The College offers PhD and MS degrees in optics and photonics, and a BS degree in photonic science and engineering. The faculty engages in research and education in fields utilizing radiation extending from millimeter waves and THz to UV and X-rays. The technologies developed include lasers (ultrafast and high power); optical fibers (microstructured and multi-materials); semiconductor and integrated photonic devices (quantum-well devices, photovoltaics, silicon photonics, plasmonics, nanophotonics); nonlinear and quantum optics (discrete solitons, nonlinear networks, nonlinear surface waves, quantum information); and imaging, sensing, and display (imaging through scattering media, polarimetry, and liquid crystals). Applications of these technologies to communication and information technology, biology and medicine, and energy are pursued. A successful partnership with industry has been a strong asset for the College. For more information see www.creol.ucf.edu. With an enrollment of more than 60,000 students and growing, UCF is the second largest university in the U.S. The recent addition of a new College of Medicine, which now includes the Burnett School of Biomedical Sciences, has stimulated a strong interest in biophotonics at CREOL.

Candidates should apply online at www.jobswithucf.com, and include supporting documents such as a curriculum vitae, statement of research interest, and names of three references. For more information about this position, please contact Professor Jim Moharam, Search Committee Chair, moharam@creol.ucf.edu.

UCF is an affirmative action employer. Women and minorities are encouraged to apply. As an agency of the State of Florida, UCF makes all application materials, including transcripts, available for public review upon request.
